REMOTE WORK. WHY NOT?

Working remotely – or working from home – is nothing new, never mind unthinkable. It is positive when companies and institutions consider it and put it into practice! The current situation has forced us to take this measure as a precaution and why not? Are you part of one of those teams that have gone digital in the past few days? Are you thinking about starting this? Read some tips here (from “How to embrace remote work” by Trello):

👉 Set out a timetable – Just like in an office, and even if it’s not fixed, it’s best to establish a work timetable so that you don’t start to procrastinate immediately. If in the office it’s easy to procrastinate, imagine yourself in your comfortable and chill house, by the kitchen or on your sofa… See it? Set an alarm clock, take a shower, get dressed and get to work!

👉 Don’t work in bed – It’s evident until it isn’t. It will call for you and can even appear to be a good idea, but it isn’t… the goal here is to create a workplace at home with a work desk, a computer with good internet access and enough light to be comfortable.

👉 Use the right tools - Trello, Slack, Zapier, Whereby, Skype… There are many of them, and they help with organising tasks, communicating and long-distance meetings (with them you are closer to being a #remotework pro)

👉 Make good use of your time – You’re home, and this is a good excuse to dump your work and enjoy your free time! Make up for the time gained from not having to commute through outdoor activities in places with few people and some family time. You will, therefore, be prepared to produce better and more work.

👉 Communicate with your team – we may be far away, but we are in 2020. We have all the necessary tools to communicate, exchange ideas and meet as if we were side by side at a desk, right?

Staying at home in a clean and safe environment, away from busy public spaces and mayhem has never been more critical than right now. Therefore, we advise you to think about this topic. 😎 What do you think? Are you already doing it? Give us your feedback on these tips. Enjoy your work and don’t forget to wash your hands regularly (Also read the World Health Organisation’s tips)! 😉
