startup lisboa stand web summit 2019

What we've been up to at Web Summit 📍

We hope you've already recovered from last week 😉! Whether you're taking the opportunity to rest or to meet with - those - important contacts you made at Web Summit, we will give you a recap of the past few days for Startup Lisboa at the Web Summit!
Together with the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (Lisbon City Council), Made of Lisboa and InvestLisboa, we had the opportunity to take Lisbon, its entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and mobility, directly to Pavilhão 4! Here 👆, at our stand, we split the days between clearing up doubts, presenting our city to all those who want to come here and keeping up some of our startups. We also organised some talks about Lisbon and entrepreneurship - which will soon be available in a special episode about Web Summit from our podcast:

Talks 📢

How are entrepreneurship hubs shaping the cities of the future? We brought together Hub Creativo do BeatoB. Amsterdam and Pollen Place to talk about the opportunities, challenges and also the role of hubs within cities.
New projects for the cities of the future. A talk about plans and projects that could boost and improve cities very soon.
Why Lisbon for entrepreneurship? Our executive director, Miguel Fontes, joined Ana Santiago and the Managing Director of Techstars in Portugal, Hugo Augusto, to talk about the reasons that drive entrepreneurs in Lisbon.
Why Lisbon for startups? This time, with Daniela Braga, from DefinedCrowd, our André Costa, Diogo Ivo Cruz, from InvestLisboa and Pedro Santos Vieira, we talked about the reasons why national and international startups want to come to our city.

Imaginary Cloud is the #1 B2B company in Portugal

We already suspected this, but it was just now that Clutch named Imaginary Cloud as the no. 1 in B2B companies in Portugal! Yes, our startup, which transforms the vision of companies into apps and is responsible for its maintenance, deserves praise! We're proud to hear the news, and we look forward to knowing what’s to come 😎.

STARTUP OF THE WEEK

ARGeo wins MyGalileoApp!

MyGalileoApp is one of the world's largest app development competitions, organised by the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA) and has proposed a challenge to startups: to design, develop, test and market a mobile app capable of providing a position and/or time correction via a smartphone with Galileo. And it was our ARGeo – an app that works as a marketing tool for brands and as entertainment (in the style of Pokémon Go) for users - that won the first prize of €100,000 (oh yeah)! Have you tried the app yet? Let's go!
