Live Electric Tours wins World Tourism Organization award!

Our incubated startup Live Electric Tours has been named the best Sustainability Startup in the world at the Tourism Startup Competition, which was organised by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)! 👏 It was in Madrid that we all got together earlier this week to attend the conference that would name some of the startups that stood out in the tourism sector. Among the three Portuguese startups that made it to the land of nuestros hermanos, two won in their categories!
And what is the winning service? It is a service that offers 100% electric cars equipped with free internet and a live camera that allows you to transmit the trip live through social networks! What could be a better way to travel around the city than this? Lisbon, Porto and Évora already have them, what's next?

YData: from Lisbon to Madrid

No, we're not tired of talking about them - because we never repeat ourselves! YData has been incubated with us for a few months, and we haven't seen them stop yet. Contests, competitions, news and now Google! Yes, this tech giant has selected this startup of ours for the Google for Startups Residency Program!
Nine startups were chosen (two of which were Portuguese - go GoParity! 🇵🇹) to join the 4th edition of this programme from our partners. From February to June, they will have access to a vast network of mentors, founders and tools in addition to having the chance to network in an international environment. Congratulations YData, we are looking forward to hearing more news and, don't worry, you have an excellent excuse to leave Lisbon (but just for now!). 😉

Last week was significant for Startup Lisbon in terms of partnerships. We are now partnering up with Revolut and ISEG MBA, and we are sure this will make headlines! Through these partners, we will be able to offer not only advantages to our incubated startups but also to the community. And what are these advantages? On this day of nominations for the most distinguished startup of the week, we couldn't pick just one. The truth is that those who deserve to be highlighted this time are those who push us across borders and make Lisbon and Portugal shine out there, right? So, who better than Live Electric Tours and LUGGit for this position? Our two startups have just arrived from Madrid after participating in the final of the World Tourism Organization startups competition! They were two of the three Portuguese who reached this stage, and for this, they are to be congratulated! 😍 We will continue to support them here and watch them take significant steps!

We start 2020 with the 8th edition of our Lisbon "internationalisation" programme. Yes, because cities are also about those who live and work in them and Launch in Lisbon is precisely that: enabling entrepreneurs and companies to come to Lisbon with bags and luggage! For three days - with the help of our partners - we'll hold an intensive course on life and business in our city, addressing areas such as real estate, legal, finance, economy, support and ecosystem; yes, when we said that everything was included, it was everything!
