The future is being baked here
"From the ashes of the 2010 financial crisis, Lisbon reinvented itself as a centre of innovation and nearshore services close to the main centres of the world economy." This is how the report from the Center for The Future of Work, by Cognizant, presents Lisbon, naming it as one of the 21 places of the future.
The report highlights the local tech ecosystem's growth being twice as fast as Europe’s, and highlights our incubator Virtualeap and our alumni Codacy as success stories that the city has seen grow. The quality of infrastructures, talent, architecture and urban renewal, culture, and leisure were pointed out as the city's strongest points, contributing to this growth.
We well know that this movement of the tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Lisbon is not due to mere chance - it has been the result of an intensive work of many actors, public and private, to build an economy "friendly" to innovation and technology. That is why we are very proud to see Lisbon on this list, and we are proud to be part of the vision and work that Lisbon has been doing for several years.

⚡The 5G Accelerator - NOS and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Collaborative Innovation Programme powered by Startup Lisboa is looking for Portuguese and foreign startups operating in Portugal that are already in the market or intend to launch a product or service that can benefit from 5G technology.
