FROM START-TO-TABLE: 2ND EDITION IS OVER

Another edition, another success. The 2 nd edition of our acceleration programme came to an end. It exceeded expectations: +150 applications, 25 projects, 43 participants and of these, 54% women (go girls!), 12 different countries, +260 hours of mentoring, +50 mentors, six field trips, and more - in just nine weeks. At From Start-to-Table Demo Day, we brought the entire community together to watch the final pitches of the projects that were part of the programme this year, and we also discovered some of the trends that promise to boost the restaurant and F&B industry for the future:

New Restaurant Concepts

Focus on the consumer experience. From knowing to doing. Many of the ideas were based on an increasingly connected expertise with people, consumers, "makers". They tend to want to know, to want to do, and brands have to adapt.

Innovative F&B Products

This is a programme in the F&B area, so the suggestions for the product were to die for. 😉 In 2019 we were increasingly concerned - about healthy eating, the environment, the world and its sustainability - and the trends of From Start-to-Table naturally keep pace. Alternative products, healthy but not dull, new sustainable products (both in the production process and in the raw material), but above all, a strong focus on taste.

Restaurant Technology

Cybersecurity, marketing, digitisation of paperwork and documents... In this 2nd edition of the programme, the entrepreneurs suggested solutions to improve direct service to consumers x service providers, with a focus on developing the experience for both customers and restaurants.

A RECIPE WITH KNOW-HOW AND MUCH MORE

When we decided last year to start cooking this new recipe, we knew that it wasn't just with know-how that got us there. 🥄 Like any restaurant, we could only provide the best possible experience with the right partners and suppliers to help us build this programme in the best possible way. The consumer is happy. We can only thank our partners Turismo de PortugalDelta CafésCentral de CervejasZone SoftAHRESPInter MagazineN 360 and Portugália Restauração for all the support provided thus far and for the future. 😏

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

IT'S ALL ABOUT INNOVATION.

Nine weeks condensed into a video of a few minutes. It seems impossible, but the truth is the N360 team did it very well! In the second edition of the programme, where "innovation" was the buzzword, we left an appetiser here of what was made, lived and worked on of late.

STARTUP OF THE WEEK

FUMEIRO DO MAR, KITCHEN VILLAGES AND MIAP

As a welcome gift to Startup Lisboa, we have chosen our new incubated startups for the week! Fumeiro do MarKitchen Villages and Miap were the winners of the 2nd edition of From Start-to-Table. In addition to the monetary prize of €10,000 each, they won incubation here with us. 🤗
Fish smoked in a sustainable way, container kitchens to boost F&B business and an app that promises to revolutionise the experience of restaurant customers are the propositions that left our mouths watering on Demo Day and will leave you curious. Stay tuned because they will certainly give you something to talk about (or eat 😂)!

NEW EDITION IN SIGHT?

Yes, it seems early and we know that there are many months to go, but one of the best announcements provided by Demo Day, was the confirmation of the 3rd edition of the programme! You already knew the programme came to revolutionise the restaurant ecosystem, but what you didn't know is that it's here to stay! Therefore, there are new projects, new trends, new solutions and new faces in the next and third edition of From Start-to-Table! Applications are not underway yet, but we'll let you know as soon as they are. 😋 😎
